Implosion Advisory No. 6: Mall Closure, Implosion Time

The orange perimeter fencing surrounding University Hall will be closed at 9 p.m. Saturday in preparation for the demolition of the former residence hall.  This will shut down access to the University Mall between the Super Slab and Van Buren Street.

Campus residents and pedestrians should take this closure into consideration and plan to avoid the area after 9 p.m. Saturday.  Once the blast zone perimeter is sealed Saturday evening, only authorized personnel will be allowed inside the fencing.  Others will be considered trespassers.

The implosion of the building is scheduled for Sunday morning shortly after sunrise.  Best estimate for the actual time of the demolition is between 8:15 and 8:20 a.m. Sunday morning.
