Implosion Timetable:
Monday, Oct. 19:
- 8 a.m. – Campus parking lots P21, P22 and P25 should be evacuated of all vehicles by 8 a.m. Unattended vehicles are subject to towing.
- 8 a.m. – Installation of blast zone fencing begins.
Friday, Oct. 23:
- 7-7:30 a.m. Test explosion in University Hall basement, University Mall closed temporarily for test.
Saturday, Oct. 24:
- 6 p.m. – Food Service Center closes after evening meal.
- 12 p.m. – Campus parking lots P26 and P27 should be evacuated.
- 10 p.m. – Campus parking lots P20, P28, P29, P32, P33, P34 and P35 should be evacuated.
Sunday, Oct. 25:
- All Day – Food Service Center will be closed.
- 12 a.m. – Campus parking lots P18 and P23 are recommended for evacuation. Vehicles left in the lot will have limited egress until mid-morning and will likely be powdered with dust from the implosion.
- 3:30 a.m. – Street closures begin of Varsity Lane, Victory Lane and Dena Drive on campus.
- 4 a.m. – Information Technology begins to shut down certain computer services.
- 5:30 a.m. – Street closures continue with Van Buren, Jackson and Vanderventer.
- 6 a.m. – University Mall, Rassman and Food Service Center closed and evacuated of all personnel.
- 7:45 a.m. – All traffic on ASU interior streets will be stopped, even permitted vehicles for university staff and VIPs.
- 7:52 a.m. – Sunrise.
- 8-8:30 a.m. – Approximate time of University Hall implosion.
- 8-9:30 a.m. – Breakfast served at the University Center for Meal Plan participants.
- 8:30-9:15 a.m. – Approximate time of cleanup of Dena and Varsity; streets opened to traffic after cleanup completed.
- 9 a.m. – Approximate time of inspection of Rassman Building and adjacent facilities.
- 11:30-1 p.m. – Lunch served at the University center for Meal Plan participants
- 12 p.m. – Scheduled return of all computer services
Monday, Oct. 26:
- 7 a.m. – Food Service Center re-opens on regular schedule.
