Maroon 5 Sets Concert at ASU
Angelo State University will present Grammy Award-winning band Maroon 5 in concert on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m. in the Junell Center/Stephens Arena, 2235 S. Jackson St.
ASU students can buy up to two tickets for $10 each, with additional tickets costing $30 each. General admission tickets are also $30 and may be purchased by calling (325) 942-2583 or by e-mail at email@example.com. Tickets are also available at the Houston Harte University Center Information Desk and at the Junell Center Ticket Office. All tickets are general admission and floor access requires that guests be 17 years of age or older. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
The ASU concert will be the 10th of 11 stops on the band’s exclusive nationwide tour in advance of the release of their upcoming new album in the spring of 2010. The University Center Program Council (UCPC) is sponsoring the ASU appearance.
Maroon 5 recorded its new album this summer with legendary producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange. The album follows their multi-platinum-selling second album, “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long.”
Special guests Fitz and the Tantrums will open the concert.
“After spending the summer in the studio recording overseas, we are excited to be returning home and to the road this fall,” said Adam Levine, the band’s front man. “It’s exciting for us to hit the stage again together and also get a chance to debut some of our new material that we’ve been recording for our fans.”
Maroon 5 has also announced the $15K Starving Student Challenge, a contest giving one fan $15,000 using Twitter and TwitVid. To enter, students can take videos of themselves singing Maroon 5 songs or doing something else and submit them to twitvid.com/maroon5. One winner will be picked at the end of the tour.
