Finalists Named

The Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Search Committee has named two individuals for campus interviews to fill the position on an interim basis. The two candidates were indentified through the Registry for College and University Presidents.

The Registry provides a pool of experienced administrators willing to accept interim appointments at universities nationally. The interim appointment will allow the university to move forward both in the operation of this new position before the start of the next academic year and in conjunction with a new provost when that position is filled.

ASU’s plan will be to re-open the search for a permanent vice president for student affairs and enrollment management during the next academic year and to fill the position on a permanent basis some time in 2011.

Position Description

The Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management (VPSA&EM) reports to the University president and is a senior executive level position responsible for leading the University’s Student Affairs and Enrollment Management division, overseeing enrollment growth and retention, and managing the auxiliary enterprises including residential life and its food services contract. The VPSA&EM will work with the president’s senior executive team, other key management members, and external stakeholders to help define, develop, communicate, and implement the University’s mission, long-term goals and strategic plan. In addition, the VPSA&EM serves as a liaison to the Texas Tech University System’s strategic planning group for recruitment and retention issues.

Supervisory Responsiblities

The VPSA&EM supervises unit managers as outlined in the accompanying organizational chart.
