Here are some samples of some service projects that we try to do regularly. Of course we do much much more...
We drive down to South Padre Friday after school once a year to participate in a nation wide coastal clean up. All day Saturday we clean the beach. Saturday night you can head back to San Angelo or stay down by the beach. Nothing like working on your tan while serving.
Our brothers in Alpha Rho host a Merit Badge University that has become unwieldy!!! It is huge. Boy Scouts of all ages come to take Merit Badge classes and other seminars. We help out where we can. We get to spend a weekend in Austin and serve with our fraternal brothers.
For those of you who drove into San Angelo from the East on highway 67, you passed by a 2-mile section of highway that our chapter takes care of. Once a month we go out there and clean the sides of the highway.
Usually once in the Fall semester we have a seminar with ASU students discussing the dangers of HIV and how to protect yourself. We do this jointly with the AIDS foundation of San Angelo.
About once a month we spend some of our service hours cleaning up ASU. We go from one side to the other picking up trash. We are proud of ASU and want to keep it beautiful.
