Our Story

In 1983, a group of finance majors had a vision to create an organization which promoted opportunities for students to develop relationships with the local business community. Hence, FREO was born.

Membership Requirements

FREO is open to all majors and the only requirement for membership is a desire to learn about the career opportunities associated with the REAL (Real Estate) degree program offered at Angelo State University. Contact Dr. Bill McKinney for more details.

A broad survey of real estate fundamentals including real and personal property, ownership and estates in land, agency relationships, and contract requirements.

A comprehensive explanation of the appraisal process, real estate math, real estate financing alternatives, appraising income producing property, and property management.

An in-depth look at principal-agent relationships, authority of agent, termination of agency, duties of an agent, intermediary relationships, employment law, deceptive trade practices, listing or buying representation, and disclosure of agency.

Provides basic knowledge, techniques, and tools to analyze and determine most probable rate of return from real estate investments.

A study of real estate appraisal as it relates to estimating the current market value of residential real property.
