Current Initiatives

Angelo State University’s Student Government Association (SGA) is working on these initiatives:

  • Student Discount Program

Initiated by former President Jeff Harris, the Student Discount Program has proved to be a success among students and the community. During this current administration, we are working to expand the program even further by inviting more local businesses to be part of this program. We are also working on making of the Student Discount Program an important part of the True Blue Initiative to bring the community together.

For more information on the program and to see what businesses offer a student discount, see the student discount page for more information.

  • Adopt-A-Hallway

Adopt-A-Hallway is a new initiative concurrent with the larger school wide “Blue and Gold Go Green” effort. Student organizations can volunteer to pick up dropped off corrugated cardboard on a bi-weekly basis from one of several dump sites on campus by electing to ‘adopt’ a specific cardboard recalling drop-offsite. In return for the service provided by the student organizations, they will receive a plaque with their name placed in a conspicuous place in the hallway they have adopted. To sign-up please e-mail SGA or call the office at 325-942-2063.

Angelo State University’s SGA encourages students to wear blue on Friday’s to help build school spirit.
