The ASU community has given me so much over the years. From absolutely wonderful friends to outstanding professors, you guys have given me a home. And I am truly grateful. I am determined to express my gratitude not just in words, but also in action. Along with other initiatives, I am especially interested in improving our graduation and retention rates. This is why I would like to be your student senator.

I am compassionate, open, thoughtful and accountable. I believe that we can achieve anything when we come together with common purpose and mutual respect. Most importantly, I deeply care about your success as my fellow student. None of us know that tomorrow exists. I want to cherish the time that I have been given by serving you.

I believe being active in your university is a good way to play your part as a student. I also want to be able to show different views on early education and special education. I think by having a special education major on the student senate will bring light and more insight on the view of special education. I have been a cheerleader for 8 years of my life and one of those years included cheering at the collegiate level. I was also the drum major for my high school band for 3 years. I am a leader at heart and would love to help out the special education department by being a leader for them.

I want to be a part of SGA because I feel like I could make a difference at the school and offer good decisions in representing out students.

I was inducted into Student Government in the fall of 2012 and it has been an amazing experience for me! I want to remain a part of Angelo State University SGA because it has allowed me the privilege of not only representing my departments needs, but also those of the entire student body. I believe that ASU has made a big impact on me over the two years I have attending this school and it has brought me great experiences but I feel the most important part of this school is the students. As your senator I will a voice for not only the education department, but the student body itself.

I feel that I am qualified for this position due to my ability to mediate situations, my ability to take other’s point of view into account and also my responsible personality. I am open minded and will take into account every possible option when making a decision.

I would like to be part of the SGA because I would like to be a voice for my peers and make a difference. I have a vivacious personality, hard working, determined. I know when to lead and when to follow.
