Welcome to Staff Senate:

As Chair of the Staff Senate, I encourage you to take an active role as we continue to support a rich tradition of community involvement. With staff willing to share their individual talents, the Staff Senate has created opportunities to further the Angelo State University vision of “excellence by fostering a supportive learning environment.”

Staff are an integral part of the campus community with individuals helping the institution grow, develop and graduate our future leaders. By becoming involved with our peers, we are able to lead by example and forge communication throughout all corners of the campus, bringing out friendships and leadership opportunities and creating the friendly welcoming environment you see on our campus today.

The Staff Senate Meetings are held the third Monday of each month and staff across the campus set the agenda each month through the agenda request form. Please take a moment and help us set the direction for the upcoming year.

I feel very blessed to serve as Staff Senate Chair for the 2014-15 academic year at an institution that provides so many opportunities not only for our students but our staff as well. The Staff Senate and I look forward to working with you. We welcome your full participation as a staff member and encourage your contribution and ideas. Please do not hesitate to contact me or your staff senate representative for more information or assistance.

Brandy Hawkins, Chair
