The UCPC Committees

Each of the committees that make up the University Center Program Council is responsible for the selection, publicity, and presentation of their events. Through involvement with any committee, members learn a variety of skills including event planning, delegation, marketing, time management, professionalism and so much more. Committee meetings are open to any ASU student.

 Arts Committee  
image The Arts Committee is responsible for
bringing visual and performing arts to
campus. The committee host events
ranging from art galleries, including
national, local, and student works, to
theatrical performances.
Chairperson: Amanda Spriggs
Meeting Time: Thursdays at 3pm in UC 210

 Entertainment Committee  
image The Entertainment Committee hosts a variety of
musical and entertainment events including major concerts, an annual student talent show, comedy
shows and a monthly coffeehouse series called
Club Café.
Chairperson: Gilbert Mendoza
Meeting Time: Thursdays at 4pm in UC 210
First meeting on January 26 will be in UC 203/204

 Films Committee  
image The Films Committee is responsible for hosting
campus movie events, such as the Monthly Movie Series usually in the ASU planetarium which
features popular pre-DVD-released movies.
Chairperson: Freddie Cantu
Meeting Time: Wednesdays at 4:30pm in the Center for Student Involvement Conference Room (UC Garden Level)

 Public Relations Committee  
image The Public Relations Committee acts as a liaison between the UCPC and other organizations on and
off campus, such as Goodfellow AFB, local TV
and radio stations.

 Recreation Committee  
image The Recreation Committee provides ASU students
with various fun opportunities to compete. The committee sponsors a variety of events such as
semi-annual poker tournaments, annual Super
Bowl parties, yearly 5K Fun Run/Walk, and
various other tournaments.

Meeting Time: Tuesdays at 4pm in UC 202

 Spirit

The Spirit & Traditions Committee is responsible
for hosting events that bring the students of 
ASU together. The committee honors the history
of ASU by keeping traditions alive.
