  • “White Coat” Funding

    In August 2016, the ASU Nursing Department was one of only 50 nursing schools nationwide to receive funding support from the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and the Arnold P. Gold Foundation to host a  “White Coat Ceremony” for nursing students during the fall 2016 semester.

  • CSS Dedication

    The ASU Center for Security Studies was officially dedicated as the Kay Bailey Hutchison Center for Security Studies in May 2016 during a ceremony attended by the former Texas senator.

  • Employee Satisfaction

    For the second straight year, ASU was named one of the nation’s “Great Colleges to Work For” by The Chronicle of Higher Education.

  • Fantastic Fundraising

    ASU received a 2016 Sustained Excellence Award in Fundraising from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) in July 2016.

  • Howard Partnership

    In the fall of 2015, ASU signed an agreement to partner with Howard College in the statewide New Mathways Project (NMP) to improve student success in both developmental and college-level mathematics courses.

  • Military Honors

    In the fall of 2015, ASU received the “Military Friendly School” designation for the seventh straight year from Victory Media and G.I. Jobs magazine.

  • National Ag Conference

    ASU’s Department of Agriculture hosted the American Meat Science Associations 69th annual Reciprocal Meat Conference in June 2016.

  • National Rankings

    Over the 2015-16 academic year, many of ASU’s academic degree programs received national recognition by a variety of ranking entities, ranging from U.S. News and Master’s Program Guide to the American Institute of Physics, On Wall Street and SuperScholars.org.

  • Phenomenal UC

    The Houston Harte University Center was designated one of the “51 Most Phenomenal College Student Union Centers in the U.S.” by EDsmart.

  • Princeton Review

    For the eighth straight year, ASU has been listed by The Princeton Review as one of the nation’s best institutions for undergraduate education.

  • ROTC Takes Flight

    In August 2016, ROTC Detachment 847 announced the addition of a new $16,000 HotSeat Pilot Pro 4 flight simulator.

  • ROTC Tops in Nation

    ASU’s Air Force ROTC Detachment 847 was recognized for excellence by the U.S. Air Force with the 2015 Right of Line Award as the top medium-sized detachment in the nation.

  • TExES Excellence

    For the 19th straight year, ASU students have maintained a 100 percent passing rate on the Texas Examination of Educator Standards (TExES) teacher certification test for secondary mathematics.

  • Top College for Hispanic Students

    For the second straight year, ASU has been named one of the nation’s top 50 “Best Colleges for Hispanic Students” by BestColleges.com.
