Regents to Consider Contractor for New ASU Housing Complex
Regents of the Texas State University System (TSUS), meeting in San Marcos Wednesday through Friday, May 17-19, will consider appointing a contractor to construct a new 500-bed residence hall on the campus of Angelo State University.
The board will meet in various committee meetings and general sessions beginning at 3 p.m. Wednesday, continuing at 8 a.m. Thursday and concluding at 8:30 a.m. Friday in Room 3-9.1 of the LBJ Student Center on the campus of Texas State University-San Marcos.
The new residence hall, named Centennial Village, is scheduled to be built on the northwest corner of campus on the site formerly occupied by the Rosemont Apartments. The housing complex is scheduled for opening in the fall of 2007.
Other business will include routine curriculum, budget and personnel issues as well as status reports on various planned construction projects on campus.
The TSUS board serves as the governing body for ASU and the other eight institutions making up the system. The other institutions are Lamar University, Lamar Institute of Technology, Lamar State College-Orange, Lamar State College-Port Arthur, Sam Houston State University, Sul Ross State University, Sul Ross State University-Rio Grande College and Texas State University-San Marcos.
