Jazz Ensemble to Perform Favorites, Tribute to Maynard Ferguson

The Angelo State University Jazz Ensemble will perform favorite tunes from the past 60 years in a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, in University Auditorium.

The program will include works from such artists as Buddy Rich, Count Basie, Chick Corea, Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder, plus a special musical tribute to legendary trumpeter Maynard Ferguson, who died in August. ASU student Amanda Ewell will be the guest vocalist.

The Jazz Ensemble is under the direction of Dr. Tim Bonenfant, assistant professor of music. The concert is open free to the public.
