‘Oasis’ Showcases ASU Student Writers

Angelo State University’s Department of English will unveil the 2007 edition of the “Oasis” campus literary magazine at a reception Tuesday, May 1, in the ASU Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont.

The reception will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the University Center's Nasworthy Suite, Room 203/204, and is open free to the public. The literary magazine will be unveiled and copies distributed to attendees. The authors and artists will give readings and offer comments on their works. Refreshments will be provided.

In its 18th year of publication, the “Oasis” magazine showcases the artistic talents of ASU students in fiction, poetry and various visual arts. It is compiled and edited in the Department of English, but students in all fields of study are encouraged to submit material for consideration. Dr. Terry Dalrymple, professor of English, is the faculty advisor.

Free copies of the magazine will also be available in the Department of English and various other distribution points around the ASU campus.
