Local Artist to Display Work at ASU
Art enthusiasts can view the works of San Angelo artist Nancy Mobley, beginning Monday, Feb. 5, in the Houston Harte University Center Art Gallery at Angelo State University.
A selection of Mobley’s paintings and sculptures will be on display Feb. 5-28 and a reception with Mobley will be held 4-6 p.m. Feb. 5 in front of the Art Gallery. The exhibit is open free to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
Mobley’s display will consist mainly of watercolor art and ceramics, but will also include some acrylic and oil paintings and ink drawings. Sponsored by the University Center Program Council Arts Committee, the display will be her fifth art show at ASU.
Since the mid 1990’s, Mobley has exhibited paintings throughout the U.S. and also in Bitburg, Germany, and Athens, Greece. She has also shown paintings in the Breckenridge Fine Arts Center National Juried Art Show, the Society of Watercolor Artists 16 th National Juried Exhibition and the 21 st International Exhibition sponsored by the Watercolor Art Society.
Her watercolors have also won several contests, including the ASU Alumni Art Competition, the C. Russell Myers Fiesta in Realism, the Marcia Williamson Memorial and the Kendall Art Gallery Competition.
