Angelo State Intramural Team Wins Regional Tournament
The Angelo State University intramural flag football team “The Invisibles” took first place in its division of the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) regional tournament in Stillwater, Okla.
The regional tournament was held Oct. 26-28 at Oklahoma State University. The Invisibles won the Co-Rec Division, which qualifies the team for the NIRSA National Flag Football Championships Feb. 3-5 at the University of Texas at Dallas.
Team members are Boyd Brotherton, Nicole Gilbert, Reggie Ham, Janna Henderson, Nick LaFave, Rob Londerholm, Danielle Low, Blake McCarthy, Whitney Monzingo, Apolynne Pilapil, Jason Reynolds, John Reynolds, Joe Walts, Randi Warren and Rowdy Warren.
Individually, Londerholm and Henderson were named the Male and Female MVP’s of the Co-Rec Division, with Henderson also earning all-tournament honors in the Women’s Division. Gilbert and Pilapil were named to the Co-Rec Division All-Tournament Team.
The Invisibles and five other ASU teams were accompanied to the regional tournament by Brad Petty, director of University Recreation and Intramurals. He will also accompany The Invisibles to nationals.
