Fall ‘Discover ASU’ Set for Nov. 3

Angelo State University will welcome prospective students and their families to campus on Saturday, Nov. 3, for “Discover ASU,” a day-long program designed to acquaint potential enrollees with the university and its numerous educational opportunities.

Discover ASU allows prospective students to visit campus and see what Angelo State has to offer in academic programs, facilities and opportunities for intellectual and personal growth.

Activities will begin with check-in at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 3 in the Houston Harte University Center on the ASU campus. The general welcome session will begin at 10 a.m. to be followed at 10:45 a.m. by a variety of informational sessions on admissions, financial aid, pre-professional programs, teacher education, nursing, the Honors Program and how to select a major. An Organizational Fair highlighting many campus academic and social student groups will also begin at 10:45 a.m.

Following a lunch break for burgers on the patio, campus tours and the Departmental Fair will begin at 12:30 p.m. The Departmental Fair will showcase each of the university’s academic departments and will run until 2 p.m. in the University Center. Campus tours will continue until the program wraps up at 3 p.m.

There will also be several other chances to attend Discover ASU programs during the 2007-08 academic year on Feb. 16, March 1 and March 29.
