ASU to Host Concho Valley College Night
Local and area high school students and their parents are invited to meet with representatives of about 100 Texas colleges and universities and the different branches of the military at Concho Valley College Night Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Angelo State University.
The event will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the C.J. Davidson Conference Center in the ASU Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont. Representatives from the various schools and military branches will be available to provide information and to answer specific questions about their institutions and services.
The evening will also include a financial aid workshop, "Financial Aid: Where It Comes From and How to Get It," that will run from 7-8 p.m. in Room 110-111 of the University Center. Jim Glossbrenner, West Central Texas coordinator of high school relations for the Panhandle Plains Student Loan Center, will conduct the workshop. He will discuss financial aid options open to students and various factors that should be considered in planning a college career.
College Night is designed to allow area high school sophomores, juniors and seniors and their parents to contact a maximum of Texas institutions of higher education at a minimum of time and effort. It also provides a way for students to narrow their collegiate options or explore other educational possibilities as they visit with representatives from the various schools regarding college admission, academic programs, costs, housing, scholarships and other topics.
This is the 12th year that ASU has hosted the event. Students who need additional information or are interested in attending should contact the ASU Office of Admissions at 942-2041, Ext. 230, or their high school counselors.
