ASU to Host Public Forum for San Angelo Police Chief Candidates
Angelo State University’s chapter of the College Republicans, with assistance from the ASU Young Democrats, will host a non-partisan public forum featuring all six candidates for San Angelo Police Chief Monday, April 14, in the ASU Houston Harte University Center.
Seating will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the forum will start at 7 p.m. in the University Center’s C.J. Davidson Conference Center. The event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
Incumbent chief Tim Vasquez and his opponents, Jeff Davis, Steve Mida, Ed Kading, Ed Cunningham and Bruce Burkett, have all committed to participate in the forum. Moderators will be local community activist Col. Charles Powell, attorney Tim Edwards and Joe Munoz, executive assistant to the ASU president. A table will be set up at the entrance to the Davidson Center where the public can submit written questions for the candidates.
