ASU Jazz Ensemble Features Classic to Contemporary Works

Angelo State University’s Jazz Ensemble will perform works from some of the jazz world’s top names Tuesday, April 15, in the University Auditorium.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. April 15 and is open free to the public. The University Auditorium is located inside the Mayer Administration Building, 2601 W. Ave. N.

The Jazz Ensemble program will include selections ranging from classic Count Basie and Duke Ellington to contemporary artists such as the Yellowjackets and Maria Schneider.

Other featured works are by Pat Metheny, Oliver Nelson, George Gershwin, Phil Woods, Bill Holman and Gerry Mulligan.

The Jazz Ensemble is under the direction of Dr. Tim Bonenfant, assistant professor of music. For more information, call the ASU Department of Art and Music at 942-2085.
