ASU Woodwind Chamber Concert Features Students, Community Members

Six groups of musicians will come together for the Angelo State University Woodwind Chamber Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 18, in the Carr Recital Hall, 2602 Dena Drive.

The concert is open free to the public. Students and community members comprise the groups directed by ASU music faculty. The Clarinet Choir and two different saxophone quartets will perform under the direction of Dr. Tim Bonenfant. The Bassoon Ensemble and the Oboe Ensemble are directed by Dr. Jeff Womack. The Flute Choir is under the direction of Dr. Connie Kelley.

Selected music is by Johann S. Bach, Felix Mendelssohn, George Gershwin, Ralph Vaughn Williams, Ferdinand “Jelly Roll” Morton, Giovanni Gabrieli, Jacques Ibert, Eug�ne Bozza, Charles Marie Widor, Farkas Ference, Jean Baptiste Singelee and Julius Weissenborn.

An arrangement by Womack and a new work by ASU music student Steven Trinkl are also on the program.
