ASU Fun Run/Walk Saturday at Pavilion

The Annual Angelo State University 5K Fun Run/Walk will be conducted Saturday, April 26, at the ASU Pavilion on the east side of campus.

The event, sponsored by the University Center Program Council and the University Recreation Department, begins at 10 a.m. Entry fees are $1 for ASU students; $2 for faculty, staff and children younger than 12; and $5 for the general public. Registration is from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

The top three finishers in each division will win an MP3 player for first place, a heart monitor for second place and a sports watch for third place. Gift cards will be given as door prizes. T-shirts, refreshments and a light breakfast will be provided to participants while supplies last.

The UCPC is providing the funding for the Fun Run/Walk, and UREC is responsible for most of the labor and equipment.

ASU and local organizations will provide volunteers and door prizes. Participating groups are Alpha Phi Omega, Delta Zeta, ASU Residential Programs, Multicultural Advisory Council, ASU Career Development, Honors Student Association, Lambda Chi Alpha, Sigma Kappa, AFROTC (Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps), SOLID (Students Organized Living in Dominion), SKIRTS at ASU (Sisters Keeping It Real Through Service), Community Health Club and Paul Ann Baptist Church.
