ASU Percussion Ensemble Concert March 6

The Angelo State University Percussion Ensemble will feature a marimba duet during its free concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 2781 W. Avenue N.

Percussion students Drew Saenz and Nick Kleeb will perform the marimba duet “Wooden Music” by Rich O’Mear. The marimba is a xylophone-like instrument with tonal bars usually made of wood. The musical tones come from striking the bars with mallets.

The group also will perform “Beautiful, Summer Rain, Midnight Dream” by ASU Percussion Ensemble Director Daniel McCloud.

The concert is open to the public.
