Another Ribbon Haul for ASU Livestock Show Team
Angelo State University’s Livestock Show Team had another good outing, grabbing 15 more ribbons at the San Angelo Livestock Show & Rodeo competition Feb. 25.
The ASU team entered its flock of Rambouillet sheep in the Open Breed Sheep Show and took first place in the Yearling Rams and Aged Rams categories. Team members also placed second in Yearling Rams, Aged Rams, Pair of Ram Lambs and Pair of Sheep contests, third in Ram Lambs and Pair of Ewe Lambs, and fourth in Ram Lambs, Yearling Ewes and Aged Ewes.
It was the third straight strong showing for the ASU team that also brought home multiple ribbons from the Fort Worth Stock Show in January and San Antonio Stock Show in early February, including the Reserve Champion Ram at both shows.
Team members showing sheep were graduate student Chase Settle and sophomores Lauren Kaker and Melissa Yama. Next up for the Livestock Show Team is the Houston Livestock Show, the final competition of the spring season. The team will show cattle this week and sheep March 22.
