Christian High School State Basketball Titles on the Line at ASU

Three days of the Texas Christian Athletic League State Basketball Tournament will culminate Saturday, March 8, in the Angelo State University Junell Center/Stephens Arena with four championship games.

Championship play begins Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Class 1A girls. The 1A boys follow at 12:30 p.m.; 2A girls play at 2 p.m.; and the 2A boys cap the tournament at 3:30 p.m. The Junell Center/Stephens Arena is located at 2235 S. Jackson St.

Preliminary games will be played Thursday and Friday in the Glenn Middle School and Cornerstone Christian School gyms.

Tickets are $10 each day for an individual pass and $5 for a student pass.

Girls’ teams in the 1A bracket are Houston Central Christian School, Tyler Christian Heritage School, San Antonio River City Christian School, Kingsville Christian Life Academy, Sherman Grayson Christian School and Boerne Vanguard Christian Institute.

Boys’ teams in 1A are Boerne Vanguard, Katy Christian Academy, Sherman Grayson, Houston Central, Tyler Christian Heritage, Houston Sinai Academy, Kingsville Christian Life and San Antonio River City.

The 2A girls’ bracket includes San Angelo Cornerstone Christian School, Red Rock Covenant, Humble Christian Life Center, Keene Chisholm Trail Academy, San Antonio Sunnybrook Christian Academy and El Paso Faith Christian Academy.

Boys’ teams competing in 2A are Humble Christian Life, Keene Chisholm Trail, Red Rock Covenant, El Paso Faith, San Angelo Cornerstone and San Antonio Sunnybrook.
