Discover ASU Welcomes Prospective Students to Campus
Angelo State University will welcome prospective students and their families to campus on Saturday, March 29, for “Discover ASU,” a day-long program designed to acquaint potential enrollees with the university and its numerous educational opportunities.
Discover ASU allows prospective students to visit campus and see what Angelo State has to offer in academic programs, facilities and opportunities for intellectual and personal growth. This will be the final Discover ASU program for the 2007-08 academic year.
Activities will begin with check-in at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the Houston Harte University Center on the ASU campus. The general welcome session will begin at 10 a.m. to be followed at 10:45 a.m. by informational sessions covering admissions, financial aid, Carr Academic Scholarships, residence halls, security, athletics, student organizations and campus activities. Sessions on admissions, financial aid, security and residence life will also be offered in Spanish.
Also at 10:45 a.m., there will be special sessions on a variety of professional programs, including pre-health professions, pre-physical therapy, pre-law and teacher education. Sessions on how to select a major and ASU’s Honors Program are scheduled at the same time as well as a tour of communication and journalism facilities and a studio performance by drama students.
Lunch will be served in the dining hall at 11:30 a.m. followed by a departmental fair from 12:30-2 p.m. and campus tours from 12:30-3 p.m.
Students and their families will also receive complimentary tickets to attend the ASU Rams vs. Central Oklahoma baseball doubleheader that starts at 4 p.m. at Foster Field.
