ASU Senior on Honor Society’s National Council
Angelo State University senior communications major Samantha Caszatt has been named to the 22-member national council of Alpha Chi, a national college honor society.
Caszatt, from Galveston, will represent Region I until 2010. Region I covers most of Texas and New Mexico and is one of seven regions in the country.
Caszatt joins six other undergraduate students and two faculty members chosen at the biennial regional conventions this spring. The new council conducted its annual meeting April 2-5 in Indianapolis, site of Alpha Chi’s national convention in April 2009.
The council is the governing body for Alpha Chi, which has chapters at more than 300 colleges and universities. Members are in the top 10 percent of juniors, seniors and graduate students from all academic fields, with about 11,000 members added each year.
