ASU President Appointed to International Education Committee
Angelo State President Joseph C. Rallo has been appointed to a three-year term on the Committee on International Education of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU).
The AASCU, which represents 430 public institutions of higher education in the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, promotes appreciation and support for public higher education. The Committee on International Education seeks to broaden opportunities for study abroad as well as foster increased recruitment of international students.
As ASU president, Rallo has been a proponent of expanding international opportunities for ASU students and recruiting more students from abroad.
On behalf of the AASCU, the Committee on International Education develops programs and seminars on study abroad opportunities; works with the American Council on Education to survey colleges on their international education programs; collaborates with the U.S. Department of State to create and expand programs; helps to shape governmental policy and legislation; and seeks to influence public attitudes on international education.
