ASU Seminar to Provide Updates on Breast Cancer

Angelo State University’s new Fitness and Wellness Initiative will conduct its first seminar in the “Brown Bag Series” with “Breast Cancer: Myths and Facts,” Friday, Oct. 10, at the Houston Harte University Center’s C.J. Davidson Conference Room.

Michelle Snuggs, M.D., chief radiologist at Shannon Women’s Imaging and MRI Center, will conduct the seminar from noon-1 p.m. Snuggs will discuss breast cancer during the “bring-your-own-lunch” event, which is open free to ASU students and employees.

Breast cancer, the second most common type of cancer, caused 502,000 deaths worldwide in 2005, according to the World Health Organization. Snuggs will present an update on research combating the deadly disease.

The “Brown Bag Series” will bring issues of fitness and wellness issues to the campus on an occasional basis.
