ASU Wind Ensemble to Present Cosmopolitan Concert

Angelo State University’s Wind Ensemble will perform an eclectic program ranging from a Russian overture to a Latin fantasy, Sunday, Oct. 5, in the San Angelo City Auditorium, 72 W. College Ave.

The concert in the City Auditorium, located inside San Angelo City Hall, will begin at 3 p.m. and is open free to the public.

Dmitri Shostakovich’s “Festive Overture, Opus 96” opens the concert, followed by “The Immovable Do (The Cyphering C)” by Percy Aldridge Grainger. Also on the program are “Sleep” by Eric Whitacre and the three-movement “Suite in B Flat” by Gordon Jacob. “El Camino Real (A Latin Fantasy)” by Alfred Reed will close the concert.

Dr. Daniel McCloud, assistant professor of music, conducts the ASU Wind Ensemble.
