ASU Group Sets Children’s Reading Program

Angelo State University’s Mu Gamma chapter of Kappa Delta Pi will conduct the “Wild About Reading,” program from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, April 16, in the Tom Green County Library, 113 W. Beauregard Ave.

College students from Kappa Delta Pi (KDP), an international education honor society, will read stories to children in first through third grades gathered in stations around the library. Typically, 10-15 college readers and 20-30 children participate, said Dr. Marilyn Eisenwine, KDP faculty sponsor and associate professor of teacher education at ASU.

The event is part of the national honor society’s “Literacy Alive” program. Children who participate will receive a free book to take home.

For more information, call Eisenwine at 942-2052.
