National Sports Organization Honors ASU Director

Bradley Petty, Angelo State University director of University Recreation and Intramurals, has been honored by the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) with the dedication of its flag football rulebook to him.

The dedication was made during the April 1-4 NIRSA national conference in Charlotte, N.C., and recognizes Petty’s significant contributions to the development of flag football. The honor follows on the heels of Petty’s induction into the American Collegiate Intramural Sports Hall of Fame in New Orleans in December.

Petty has been active in flag football since 1991 and has served as a student official, evaluator, clinician, mentor, director, consultant and professional member of NIRSA. He earned All-America honors as an official in 1991 and 1992. After serving eight years as assistant director of officials at the National Collegiate Flag Football Championships in New Orleans, he became director of officials in 2005.
