Commissioning Ceremony for Angelo State ROTC Cadet

An Angelo State University ROTC cadet will be headed to U.S. Air Force pilot training following a commissioning ceremony Friday, Aug. 7, in the ASU Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building, 2602 Dena Drive.

Cadet Bret M. Evans Jr., a native of Del Rio, will be commissioned as an Air Force second lieutenant in the ceremony that will begin at 11 a.m. Aug. 7 in the Carr EFA Recital Hall. The commissioning will be performed by retired Air Force Capt. Bonifacio Hernandez III.

Guest speaker for the ceremony will be Col. Guy Parker, commander of the 17th Mission Support Group at Goodfellow Air Force Base.

Evans’ first assignment will be at Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio for Undergraduate Pilot Training. He is also set to graduate cum laude from ASU in August with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics.

The public is invited to attend the ceremony, which will be followed by a reception. Dress for the event is semi-formal.
