ASU Professor Organizes Community Flute Choir
Professional and amateur flutists and high school students just learning to play can hone their skills with the newly organized Concho Valley Community Flute Choir.
Angelo State University flute professor Dr. Constance Kelley, who started the group and serves as director, leads rehearsals the second and fourth Sundays of each month from 2-4 p.m. in the ASU Band Hall, Carr Education-Fine Arts Building Room 134. The group meets next on Sunday, Sept. 13.
The choir is open to area high school students with the recommendation of their teachers and to adult professional and amateur flutists. The group’s goal is to promote flute music and to foster the association of flutists and enthusiasts.
Kelley said the ensemble is available to perform for community events and has a repertoire ranging from serious recital selections to seasonal arrangements.
