ASU to Implement New Campus Parking Plan
New ASU campus parking regulations, effective this fall semester, have been approved by the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents and will feature several significant changes, including a parking fee for faculty and staff, a return to parking decals for students and the re-zoning of several parking lots.
The faculty/staff parking fee has been set at $90 a year. The fee may be payroll deducted over a nine-month period by registering online, beginning July 20 and accessible through RamPort, the university’s internal Web portal. Online registration should only be used by individuals wishing to authorize the payroll deduct option.
Faculty/staff wishing to pay the entire fee upfront may do so at the University Police Office starting Aug. 10. There is no refund for one-time payments. Faculty and staff will continue to use the current hang tags.
The student general parking fee has also been set at $90 a year. The student reserved parking fee has been set at $100 a year, which was the maximum fee approved previously by the Board of Regents, and will be adjusted next year. Instead of hang tags, students will utilize parking decals affixed to the left rear windshield of their vehicles.
Parking lot 39 (south of the Academic Building) and lot 42 (west of the Education-Fine Arts Building) will be re-zoned as commuter reserved lots, meaning only students with a “D” zone decal may park there from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Immediate towing will be enforced in all “D” zone reserved parking lots.
Parking lot 40 (south of and between the Academic and EFA buildings) and lot 8 (east of the University Clinic) will be re-zoned as a faculty/staff parking, or “A” zones.
Parking lot 37 (the Library parking lot) will be re-zoned as a “B” zone for commuter students.
Parking lot 33 (across Dena Drive from Rassman Building) and lot 35 (south side of CHP) will be re-zoned as “A/B” zones for faculty/staff and commuter students.
Additional “A” zone parking will be added to parking lots 42 (west of EFA) and 43 (west of University Center).
