ASU Education Honor Group Rates National Recognition
The Kappa Delta Pi national education honor society will present Angelo State University’s Mu Gamma chapter the Achieving Chapter Excellence (ACE) Award this fall during the national group’s biennial convocation in Orlando, Fla.
The national organization recently awarded the ASU group its ACE Award, the highest recognition the honor society bestows upon its institutional chapters. Mu Gamma is one of only 28 chapters to receive the honor out of more than 600 chapters that comprise Kappa Delta Pi’s membership list. That includes 594 institutional chapters at universities, with the rest coming from community colleges, virtual universities and alumni/professional groups.
Mu Gamma met the national criteria for excellence in programs, leadership, training and service, according to a letter to ASU College of Education Dean John Miazga from Faye Snodgrass, executive director of Kappa Delta Pi.
Mu Gamma’s student president is Dwenette Stevenson and counselor is Dr. Marilyn Eisenwine, associate professor in the Teacher Education Department.
