ASU Sheep Showing Team Scores in San Angelo and San Antonio

Angelo State University’s Livestock Show Team brought home a host of ribbons from the San Angelo Livestock Show, including one first-place finish and the Reserve Champion Ram.

Showing 12 Rambouillet sheep in the Open Breed Sheep Show, the ASU team took first place in the Spring Rams category. ASU also placed second in Aged Rams and Yearling Rams, adding third-place ribbons in Aged Rams, Yearling Rams and Spring Rams.

The ASU team also entered the Reserve Champion Ram at the San Antonio Livestock Show earlier this month and added two first-place ribbons for Aged Rams and Spring Rams. Team members also earned second place in Yearling Rams and third place in Aged Rams, Yearling Rams and Spring Rams.

ASU team members are graduate student Thomas Epting and undergraduates Jerred Griffith, Casey Grounds, Lura Hayes and Tiffany Kennemer.

The San Angelo competition wrapped up the season for the ASU team that earned the Reserve Champion Ram in all three contests it entered (Fort Worth, San Antonio and San Angelo) and racked up a total of seven first place ribbons, four second places and eight third places as well as the Champion Flock in Fort Worth.
