Scratch Track Brings Eclectic Style to ASU Club Caf
The two-man musical team of David “DJ” Lee and Jason Hamlin will bring their musical fusion, known as Scratch Track, to Angelo State University’s Club Caf on March 25 in the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive.
The 7:30 p.m. performance in the C.J. Davidson Conference Center will have $1 admission and audience members will receive a free Club Caf coffee mug. Coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate, cookies, brownies and other refreshments will be served.
The duo brings together hip-hop and soul with an acoustic guitar and some beat boxing to achieve their unique style. Lee’s influences include Marvin Gaye and Beck, while Hamlin pulls from Mississippi Delta blues, Led Zeppelin’s rock riffs and Tom Waits’ blues and jazz.
Besides their extensive coffeehouse experience, Scratch Track’s work has been heard on “CSI New York,” the snowboarding film “Off the Grid” and the “MLB” video game. They also have toured in Europe and Japan.
