ASU Bass Anglers Club Members Win Prize
Angelo State University Bass Anglers Club fishermen placed fifth and won $2,000 Saturday in the National Guard FLW College Fishing Texas Division Tournament on Sam Rayburn Reservoir near Jasper.
Josh Seale, a junior from Breckenridge, and Austin Adcock, a freshman from Leander, landed six bass totaling 15 lbs., 10 oz. for the day to place fifth. The winnings will be split evenly between the ASU Bass Anglers Club and the university.
The ASU Bass Anglers Club team of Audwin Hall of Brownwood and Wes Smith of San Angelo pulled 12 lbs., 7 oz. of bass from the reservoir to place 13th in the tournament.
Full-time students enrolled in four-year colleges or universities are eligible to participate in the FLW College Fishing series, which is organized into five geographical divisions. Schools can send two-person teams to each of four qualifying events in their division. The top five teams in each qualifying event, including Seale-Adcock, will advance to the Texas Regional Championship Nov. 14-16 at the Grand Ecore Recreation Area in Natchitoches, La., which will be televised in San Angelo on Versus, SuddenLink channel 47.
The three-day FLW National Guard College Fishing National Championship is held annually in early March with the top five teams in each region competing.
