ASU Cattle Show Team Fares Well in Houston

Angelo State University’s Angus Cattle Show Team stocked up on ribbons last week at the Houston Livestock Show.

The show team entered its heifer calves in the Open Cattle Show, placing second, third, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth in January Calves. The team also took second place in the Group Class (three calves with the same sire) and placed seventh and eighth in March Calves.

Team members are seniors Ashlee Woods, Kayla Brooks, Gary Henson and Sarah Lange; junior Jeremy Rychlik; sophomore Sonja Blumentritt; freshmen Kasie Wagenfehr and Cheyenne Selph; and graduate student Matthew Coffman.

The Houston contest was the final competition of the spring for the show team.
