Mayoral Candidates Forum Set at ASU

Angelo State University’s chapter of the College Republicans will host a mayoral forum at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1, in the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive.

All seven San Angelo mayoral candidates will debate city issues during the forum, which will be moderated by head of the ASU Government Department, Dr. Ed Olson, in the C.J. Davidson Conference Center. Introductory statements from the candidates, questions from the moderator and attendees will help voters understand candidates’ positions when they go to the polls for the special election on Nov. 3.

Candidates for mayor are Paul Alexander, Richard D. Bart Jr., Daniel Cardenas, John David Fields, Joseph Grimes, Alvin New and King Walker. The election was called after the resignation of former mayor J.W. Lown shortly after his re-election in May.

Citizens may submit questions for possible inclusion in the forum by e-mailing thepeoplesquestions@live.com.
