Community Chorale Begins Rehearsals at ASU
The new Community Chorale at Angelo State University begins rehearsals on Monday, Feb. 1, in preparation for an April 27 public performance of “Grand and Glorious” with the ASU Concert Chorale and a chamber orchestra.
Anyone in the San Angelo area interested in singing is invited to participate in the chorale, which will meet each Monday from 6-8:30 p.m. in the choir room inside the ASU Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building, 2602 Dena Drive. The group will be directed by Dr. Pamela Lee, ASU professor of music and director of choral activities.
“If the chorale continues to grow, members can perform double chorus works with the university Chorale and even give their own concerts,” Lee said.
Lee is starting the chorale to offer an opportunity for people to sing who can’t come to rehearsals during the day because of work or other commitments.
Cost to join is $150 plus about $50 to cover the price of music. For more information and to register, contact the ASU Division of Extended Studies at 942-2339.
