Full Slate of Vice Presidents at ASU
The arrival this month of Dr. Anthony P. Blose as provost and vice president for academic affairs and Dr. Vance R. Valerio as vice president for student affairs and enrollment management completes an administrative restructuring at Angelo State University.
The two new vice presidential appointments along with the two existing vice presidents bring to four the number of vice presidential positions at ASU and aligns administrative responsibilities in concert with strategic goals of Angelo State University.
“As we look to the future,” ASU President Joseph C. Rallo said, “this new structure will allow us to better target our human and fiscal resources to meet our programmatic and enrollment goals."
In addition to the vice president for academic affairs and vice president for student affairs and enrollment management, ASU has a vice president for finance and administration and a vice president for strategy, planning and policy.
“Each position,” said Rallo, “will play a key role in ASU’s future.”
The provost and vice president for academic affairs will oversee all of the university’s academic programs, both in San Angelo and at satellite campuses in the Hill Country. Blose’s responsibilities will cover everything that relates to the classroom and online educational experience of ASU students. He will also be second in command for the university.
As vice president for student affairs and enrollment management, Valerio will oversee those areas related to the student extracurricular experience, including residential programs, intramurals, and student life and services. His other responsibilities will include admissions, career development, financial aid, veterans affairs, registrar and summer orientation.
Sharon K. Meyer has served as vice president for finance and administration since 2002. Her responsibilities include the overall administrative departments, including budget, human resources and payroll; as well as business services; controller; facilities management; facilities planning and construction; University Police, and environmental, health, safety and risk management.
Dr. James M. Limbaugh has served as vice president for strategy, planning and policy since the summer of 2008. In that capacity, Limbaugh directs all university strategic planning and research, coordinates all accreditation efforts and oversees information technology. For the past 14 months, Limbaugh has also served as interim vice president for both academic and student affairs.
“On behalf of the entire campus,” Rallo said, “I would like to thank Jim Limbaugh for all the hard work and extra hours he devoted to Angelo State from last summer until now. His collegial style and his strong leadership benefited us all.”
