ASU Education Honor Society Inducts 46
Angelo State University’s Mu Gamma chapter of Kappa Delta Pi (KDP), the international honor society for education, has inducted 46 new members for the fall 2010 semester.
San Angeloans inducted into KDP include Robert Broussard, Linda Cortez, Amanda Leigh Fowler, Tanya DeAnn Gue, David William Hooks Jr., Claudia Huerta, Sharon Rose Matthews, Ashley Brook Mikulik, Sheryl Robinson, Ashlee Nicole Tally, Leslie Long Taylor and Ethan Wade West.
Also joining the group are Kristin Nochole Scott and Allyson Wood of Abilene, Allison Busenlehner of Ballinger, Robin Leigh Taylor of Boerne, Betzy Day of Brady, Laura Elizabeth Hurdin of Bulverde, Sue Ann Boatright and Katelyn Marie Nixon of Coleman, Cassie Marie Bass-Olivas and Shelbi Turner of Colorado City, and Lauren Elizabeth Fritsch of Corpus Christi.
Also, Siara E. Aldrete of Crane, Krista Nicole Escamilla of De Leon, Norma Aguilar, Tiffany Perez and Monica Saldivar of Del Rio, Emily Kate Shipman of D’Hanis, Keri Shults Barnett of Dublin, Byron Blackmon of Duncanville, Maria E. Others inductees include Heather Watson of Helotes, Gavin J. Smith of Horseshoe Bay, Julie Nolen of Marble Falls, Teresa Consuelo Dominguez of Mason, Rita L. Rios of Ozona, Joshua Keith Tally of Paint Rock, Jessica Ann Bell of San Antonio, Madison Miles of San Saba, and Betsy Allyse Edmondson and Kathryn Shayne Wallace of Tuscola.
To qualify for KDP, undergraduate students must be at least sophomores with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher in 12 or more hours of education courses. Graduate students qualify with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher after a minimum of 12 hours of professional education courses. KDP was founded in 1911 at the University of Illinois to foster excellence in education and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching. There are 582 chapters with a total international membership of more than 45,000.
