ASU to Host Guest Musician
Scott Millichamp, co-principal horn player with the Midland-Odessa Symphony Orchestra, will perform a guest recital Monday, Oct. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the Angelo State University Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building, 2602 Dena Drive.
The 7:30 p.m. performance in the EFA Building’s Eldon Black Recital Hall is open free to the public.
Millichamp is also an adjunct instructor of music at Odessa College and horn player for the Lone Star Brass. Before moving to Texas, he served for two years as fourth horn in the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and in other symphonies. He has also served as acting co-principal horn in the Missouri Symphony summer festival, acting second horn in the Lyrique en Mer opera festival on France’s Belle Ile en Mer, and second horn of Opera in the Ozarks.
He recently performed as a contributing artist at the International Horn Symposium, where he assisted in two concerts and performed his horn and piano piece, “Crossroads.”
The Detroit native spent six years as a horn performance major at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, where he earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music.
