ASU Jazz Ensemble to Present Familiar Songs in Concert

Angelo State University’s Jazz Ensemble will perform well-known selections from classic and contemporary artists and composers on Tuesday, Nov. 8, in the Houston Harte University Center, 1902 Rosemont Drive.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the University Center’s C.J. Davidson Conference Center and is open free to the public.

Songs on the program will include “Four” by Miles Davis; “Birdland” by Joe Zawinul; “I Can’t Stop Lovin’ You,” arranged by Quincy Jones; “Send in the Clowns” by Stephen Sondheim; “Home At Last” by Walter Becker and Donald Fagen; “So Very Hard to Go” by Stephen Kupka and Emilio Castillio; “All of Me,” arranged by Billy Byers; “Mood Indigo” by Duke Ellington, Irving Mills and Barney Bigard; “Take the ‘A’ Train” by Billy Strayhorn; and “Goodbye Pork Pie Hat” by Charles Mingus.

The ASU Jazz Ensemble is directed by Dr. Tim Bonenfant, associate professor of music.
