ASU Woodwind Chamber Ensemble Concert Set for Nov. 18
Angelo State University’s Woodwind Chamber Ensemble will present its fall concert Tuesday, Nov. 18, in the Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building, 2602 Dena Drive.
The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the EFA Building’s Eldon Black Recital Hall and is open free to the public.
The ASU Clarinet Choir, directed by Dr. Timothy Bonenfant, ASU associate professor of music, will feature works, including Gordon Jacob’s “Wind in the Reeds: IV. Ballet Russe;” Eric Whitacre’s “Sleep,” arranged by Bonenfant; and Armando “Chick” Corea’s “Children’s Songs No. 5” and “No. 7,” also arranged by Bonenfant. Also on the program are Maurice Ravel’s “Mother Goose Suite: I. Sleeping Beauty’s Pavane,” “IV. Conversations Between the Beauty and the Beast,” and “III. Little Miss Ugly Face, Empress of the Pagodas.”
The ASU Flute Choir, directed by Dr. Constance Kelley, assistant professor of music, will perform William Byrd’s “Sellinger’s Round,” Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Toccata” and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro.”
In addition, the ASU Woodwind Quintet, directed by Dr. Jeff Womack, assistant professor of music, will perform Charles Gounod’s “Funeral March of a Marionette” and Gioacchino Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville.”
