ASU Family Day Activities Set for Oct. 1
Angelo State University students’ families are invited to campus on Saturday, Oct. 1, for Family Day 2011 activities leading up to and including the ASU-Eastern New Mexico football game that evening.
Family Day gives families a chance to see ASU’s programs, facilities and student accomplishments, and take part in a varied schedule of events beginning at 9 a.m. and running throughout the day.
Highlights of the day include an opening reception in the Texan Hall Community Room, an American Chemical Society magic show in the Cavness Science Building, two free star shows in the Global Immersion Center (Planetarium) inside the Vincent Nursing-Physical Science Building, and a “Minute to Win It” game show in the Houston Harte University Center.
Other activities will include San Angelo trolley rides sponsored by the Multicultural Center, tours of ROTC Det. 847, a 2011 Study Abroad Student Experiences Presentation in the Academic Building, a rock climbing demonstration in the new Student Recreation Center, and a Society of Physics Students physics demonstration in the Vincent Building.
Students and their families are also invited to the ASU Alumni Association’s Ram Jam pre-game activities at the LeGrand Alumni and Visitors Center, 1620 University Ave. Activities will include a tailgate party, free food, live music and other entertainment.
Free football tickets will be available for students to pick up for their family members at the University Center Information Desk during the week of Sept. 26-30 and at Ram Jam on Oct. 1.
