ASU College of Sciences Awards Everhart, Medical Center Scholarships

The Angelo State University College of Sciences has announced the recipients of the Dr. Merrill W. Everhart Scholarship in Science and the San Angelo Community Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship for the 2001-02 academic year.

Michael Patyrak, a senior biology major from San Angelo, will receive the Everhart Scholarship. Angelo Bookout, a senior kinesiology and pre-med major from San Antonio, will receive the San Angelo Community Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship. Both scholarships are $1,200.

Patyrak is an officer in the American Chemical Society and a member of the Biochemistry Club and College Republicans. He is interested in a career in the medical field. The Everhart Scholarship in Science was established by the will of Julia Tidwell Everhart for students studying any field of science at ASU.

Bookout is a member of Alpha Chi Honor Society and Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society. The San Angelo Community Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship is awarded annually to a graduate of a Texas high school who is a junior or senior ASU student majoring in any medical or medically related field.
