Marching Ram Band Prepares for 2001 Season at ASU
The 2001 Angelo State University Marching Ram Band takes to the field again this year, continuing a long tradition of providing the best in musical performances and school spirit.
This year's Ram Band consists of 125 students representing 25 majors from virtually every department on campus. Members of the band hail from 62 different high schools from all parts of Texas and eastern New Mexico.
The band is under the field leadership of Drum Majors Mande Hutchison, a senior music education major from Sterling City, and Heather Arnold, a sophomore business major from Round Rock. The Color Guard captain is Amy Riley, a senior elementary education major from Ballinger, and featured twirlers for the season are Michelle Gonzalez, a junior psychology major from Uvalde, and Vanessa Moffett, a senior psychology major from Littlefield.
Directors of the Ram Band are Dr. David Scott and Dr. Douglas Overmier.
Performances scheduled for the season include all home football games, Fish Splash, the Homecoming parade and a visit to A&M Kingsville. The band will continue to perform a variety of music and shows with this year's performances to include "To the Stars," "James Bond, 007," "A Salute to the 80's," "2001: A Sports Odyssey" and "An American Salute."
